Pirelli Tires Show off 2012 F1 Season

ROME - Pirelli showcased their new range of tires to be used by teams that take part in Formula One 2012 season.

Go to their second year as sole tire supplier to Formula One, the Italian tire manufacturer has to make adjustments on the shape of the tire in order to compensate for the change in aerodynamics caused the prohibition of blown diffusers.
As reported by PlanetF1, Pirelli today has stated that their goal for 2012 is to ensure tire racing entertaining and remains unpredictable. The key characteristic of the new Pirelli tires is a square profile, increased grip, softer, more competitive compound with a consistent degradation.

Four different compounds will be given once again, with, supersoft, soft, medium and hard compounds. Two tires for wet weather will also be provided.

The signs on the tires are now bigger, so they can be more recognizable. New tires for wet weather, both full wets and intermediates will be referred to as 'Cinturato', the same name from Pirelli tires that follow the race and won in 1950.

The use of silver marks for hard compound tires and white sign for the medium compound tires. This change alone not because Pirelli had been criticized last season too difficult to distinguish different types of tires.

This is the color to distinguish the type of tire wear Season 2012:

Supersoft Red
Soft :  Yellow
Medium : White
Hard : Silver
Intermediate : Green
Wet : Blue

Soft : Kuning
Medium : Putih
Hard : Perak
